Businesses
There are so many ways that your business can help the effort.
Offer your space - Can you accommodate a tutor and student for their weekly one-hour lesson until our local libraries reopen? Our tutors and students meet various days at various times. If you have an open space, it's likely that we have a tutor and student who can use it. Contact our executive director for more information.
Make a donation – Has your company made its charitable contribution yet this year? It’s no secret that people patronize businesses that support the causes they believe in. A recent study conducted by Leo Shapiro & Associates shows that literacy ranks very high in importance in west suburban Chicago. 70% of the 1,000 residents surveyed agreed that it is important for immigrants to learn English and that being unable to read and speak English is a growing problem. Donate today!
Participate in the Trivia Bee for Literacy – Form a three-person team and join us in March when we will test your knowledge of the unique, the fascinating and sometimes quirky facts of life. A $400 donation secures your table. If you win, you can claim prizes, awards and, best of all, bragging rights.
Advertise our tutor training workshops – If you have a newsletter, a way to advertise online or a place to post flyers such as a Break Room, you can encourage interest in literacy volunteerism. Talk with our marketing team about our preprinted ads and releases.
