“These are the same people who put chemicals on our lawns, fix our food at restaurants and care for our elderly. Yet they have trouble reading labels, don’t always understand what is said and have trouble navigating telephone answering machines. For the good of the community, we must help.”

– Peg Coker, Executive Director

We need your financial support. Our literacy volunteers couldn’t have the impact they do without donations from individuals, businesses, organizations, government and foundation contributors.

Statistics show that, despite the recession, our immigrant population has grown and will continue to grow in years ahead. We must grow so that the number of adult students who need one-to-one tutoring does not outpace our ability to serve.

Market research shows that the potential to attract more literacy volunteers is high, but their decision to become involved depends on the organization’s ability to support them. They want staff members that will ensure a good fit between tutor and student. They want immediate responses to needs or requests. They want teaching resources.

By making a donation in any amount, you can make this happen. Become a donor today!
